Start early for a scenic 9-hour drive (225 km) from Rishikesh to Lohajung. Pass through Mussoorie, Yamuna Valley, and charming villages like Purola and Netwar. Reach by late afternoon and check into a guesthouse. Rest and acclimatize.
Day 2: Trek from Lohajung to Bekaltal (9,700 ft)
Begin your trek through dense oak and rhododendron forests. Cross a mix of flat and uphill trails with great views of Nandaghunti Peak. After 4–5 hours (8 km), reach the serene Bekaltal campsite near the lake. Camp overnight under pine canopies.
Day 3: Bekaltal to Brahmatal (10,500 ft)
Climb gradually through snow-covered forests and open ridges. The trail opens to mountain views and alpine expanses. Reach Brahmatal Lake, often frozen in winter. Camp nearby with views of Mt. Trishul glowing during sunset. Total trek ~6 km (4–5 hrs).
Day 4: Trek to Brahmatal Top (12,250 ft), then descend to Lohajung
Start early for a steep 2.5-hour ascent to Brahmatal Top. Enjoy panoramic views of Trishul, Nanda Ghunti, and surrounding ranges. Begin your descent after breakfast, leaving behind the serene Brahmatal Lake. The trail initially takes you to Jhandi Top, offering spectacular views of snow-draped Himalayan peaks. From here, the path turns left and heads downhill toward Lohajung. Have a tight sleep in the cozy guesthouse in Lohajung.
Day 5: Drive from Lohajung to Rishikesh
Early morning departure for Rishikesh. The 9-hour return drive offers a chance to reflect on the journey and admire the changing landscapes one last time. Trip ends upon arrival in Rishikesh by evening.
